Novice: Beginner Level:

  • the basics
  • set up a successful business
  • start at the beginning
  • measuring, cutting, sewing
  • complete at least 6 different projects
  • explore fabrics
  • set up a successful business plan
  • bookkeeping
  • marketing/advertising
  • networking in and outside of the trade
  • work with a mentor throughout this level of certification

Journey Person: Intermediate Level: Continue Education

  • explore various methods of slipcovering
  • complete 6 slipcovers for difficult furniture
  • conquer new fabrics
  • experiment  with styles/various types of closures
  • continue business education
  • work with a mentor throughout this level of certification

Master: Experienced Level:

  • participate in Instructor training
  • teach a slipcover class (live or Online)
  • participate in writing a column or article
  • participate in an event
  • be a mentor
  • work with a mentor throughout this level of certification
